Description:
The Legal Assistant is part of a team of administrative assistants in the Office of the General Counsel, OGC. This position performs a wide range of secretarial and administrative and clerical office duties, requiring knowledge of University and departmental policies and procedures, as they relate to the legal work performed by the Office of the General Counsel, University Attorneys and leadership. Typical duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Processing and editing correspondence, memos, and legal documents, including photocopying, scanning and redacting information from documents, and transcribing handwritten documents and recorded messages, performing specialized typing assignments, requiring rapid and accurate typing of technical and legal material, preparing various legal documentation, such as pleadings, affidavits, corporate filings, and legal memoranda, creating, organizing, and maintaining files for a variety of legal matters, managing calendars, and answering phones, all the while being mindful of confidentiality obligations and serving the needs of clients. Minimum of 3 years of related experience in an administrative support role. Must be extremely proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
